After moving to Italy for what we thought would only be for a year, we fell in love.
We've long been travelers and serial expats, hopping from one country to the next, always craving something new. We met both working in Panama in 2016 and went from solo travelers to traveling as a couple. Together we've lived a year in South Korea, 3 years in Vietnam, and nearly 2 years in the Balkans, filling the gap between countries as nomads.
In 2022, Raf was offered a job in Trieste, Italy. While the job didn't excite him much, the chance to live in Italy intrigued us both. The deal with the company was that we'd be here for about a year until he would be transferred to a more permanent position in Warsaw.
I think we all know where this went. We didn't move to Warsaw and we're doing our best to stay in Italy, diving deep into the bureaucratic world of residency permits and traveling throughout the country every chance we get.
We've both always been motivated by great food, beautiful nature, and a laid-back lifestyle and Italy checks all of those boxes without hesitation.
While we've explored and eaten our way through a lot of the country already, there's so much more we have on our ever-growing list that we decided to take you along for the ride with us.
Sometimes we travel just the 2 of us, sometimes we jet off for solo trips, and other times we bring our dog, Bandido, and our cat, Monti, along for the ride.
We're not interested in showing you the tourist hotspots most people know but only some love. We're more interested in showing you parts of Italy you might not have known about, how to travel like you live here, and to give you plenty of chances to say, "Mamma Mia Indeed!"
